Kourtney Kardashian Defends Son Mason Against False Rumors

In a rare and heartfelt public statement, Kourtney Kardashian has come forward to address false rumors surrounding her 15-year-old son, Mason Disick. The reality star and founder of lifestyle brand Poosh took to her Instagram Story on Sunday, March 2, to set the record straight after claims surfaced alleging that Mason had fathered a child. Kourtney, known for keeping her personal life private, made it clear that she couldn’t stay silent on this matter, as it directly involved her child. "I rarely address rumors or conspiracies regarding myself or my family, but this is about my child, and it feels wrong to let anyone think for a second that these lies are remotely true," she wrote. She emphasized that Mason does not have a child and called out fake social media accounts pretending to be him, labeling them as "FAKE."

A Mother’s Plea for Privacy and Respect

Kourtney, who shares Mason, as well as Penelope, 12, and Reign, 10, with ex-partner Scott Disick, used the opportunity to plead with the media and the public to respect her son’s privacy. She expressed that Mason values his private life and deserves to enjoy his childhood without unnecessary scrutiny. "My son really values his privacy, and I am asking all media to please be respectful: he is a kid with feelings and a beautiful life ahead of him. Please stop spreading false narratives and spinning lies," she stated. Her words echoed a mother’s concern for her child’s well-being, urging everyone to refrain from spreading harmful and untrue stories.

Addressing the Broader Issue of Online Harassment

Kourtney didn’t limit her statement to just the rumors about Mason; she also called out individuals who create content about her children, particularly those who are minors. "And to all the other people making videos about my kids (who, by the way, are minors), please stop and leave them alone," she wrote. This part of her statement highlights her frustration with the constant attention and false narratives surrounding her family, especially her children. Her appeal was not just about protecting Mason but also about setting boundaries for how her younger kids, Penelope and Reign, are treated in the public eye.

Scott Disick’s Recent Comments on Mason’s Dating Life

Interestingly, Kourtney’s statement comes shortly after her ex-partner Scott Disick opened up about Mason’s growing interest in dating. In an interview on Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, in January, Scott shared that he had been having open conversations with Mason about respect and honesty in relationships. "He’s starting to really like girls, and obviously, girls like him. I just said, ‘You can do whatever you want, just don’t lie and don’t manipulate any girls,’" Scott recalled. While Scott’s comments were well-intentioned, they may have inadvertently fueled speculation about Mason’s personal life, which Kourtney is now addressing.

Kourtney’s Expanded Family and Priorities

Kourtney, who married Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker in 2022, is also a mother to their 1-year-old son, Rocky Thirteen. Balancing her career, marriage, and motherhood, Kourtney has always been vocal about her commitment to protecting her children’s privacy. Her recent statement underscores the challenges celebrities face in shielding their kids from the prying eyes of the media and the public. While her older children, like Mason, are gradually stepping into the public sphere, Kourtney is clear about drawing boundaries to ensure they can grow up with as much normalcy as possible.

The Bigger Picture: Celebrity Kids and Privacy Rights

Kourtney’s plea for respect and privacy isn’t just about her own family; it resonates with many celebrity parents who struggle to protect their children from false narratives and intrusive media attention. As her children grow older and become more visible in the public eye, Kourtney’s statement serves as a reminder of the importance of kindness, empathy, and respect when discussing or speculating about minors. By speaking out, Kourtney hopes to create a safer and more considerate environment for her children to navigate their lives, both online and offline. Her stance highlights the ongoing conversation about privacy rights for celebrity children and the responsibility of the public and media in respecting those boundaries.
