Kyle Cooke’s Candid Conversation About His "Summer House" Drama
Kyle Cooke recently opened up about his tense interactions with his Summer House co-star Paige DeSorbo during a live event for Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” series. Cooke, who is also the founder of Loverboy, admitted to sending DeSorbo a flurry of messages expressing his frustrations about her then-boyfriend, Craig Conover, and her best friend, Hannah Berner. However, he defended his actions, insisting that he wasn’t “rage-texting” but rather “spitting facts.” Cooke, who is 42, acknowledged that the messages weren’t directly aimed at DeSorbo, 32, but were instead a venting session about his disappointment with Conover and Berner. He shared that he was feeling discouraged by Conover’s decision to invest in a competing alcohol brand, Spritz Society, and by Berner’s accusation that he had gotten her fired from Summer House after she appeared in an ad for a rival company.
The Heated Confrontation with Paige DeSorbo
The tension between Cooke and DeSorbo came to a head during a recent episode of Summer House. DeSorbo confronted Cooke about the messages, which included him expressing how “f–king apes–t” he was over her friends’ actions. Cooke, in turn, accused DeSorbo of being “two-faced” for seemingly downplaying the situation when they had previously spoken at one of his DJ events. He explained that he was blindsided by her reaction, saying, “The only reason I called her two-faced was because I checked in with her at my DJ event. I was like, ‘Hey, I’m sorry.’ I was like, ‘In the moment, I could not believe what I was hearing.’” Despite the heated exchange, Cooke hinted that the two have since repaired their friendship, stating, “Sometimes I just gotta blow off some steam, and sometimes she has to blow off some steam, so we’re good.”
The Fallout with Hannah Berner
Cooke’s drama with DeSorbo also tied into his ongoing feud with Hannah Berner, who starred on Summer House from 2019 to 2021. Berner left the show after a unresolved conflict with Cooke, which she later claimed stemmed from her decision to appear in an ad for Truly Hard Seltzer, a competitor to Loverboy. Berner revealed on Barstool Sports’ BFFs podcast in July 2024 that she didn’t realize she wasn’t allowed to promote other beverage brands, which she believed led to her exit from the show. However, Cooke denied her claims, telling Page Six that he had “nothing to do with casting” and that her story held “no truth.” He expressed that he was flattered by the idea that people thought he had such influence but clarified, “Clearly, I don’t have any control over what Bravo does.”
Cooke’s Olive Branch to Hannah Berner
Despite their rocky past, Cooke expressed a willingness to mend his relationship with Berner during the “Virtual Reali-Tea” event. However, he made it clear that any reconciliation would require her to stop “spewing lies” about their feud. Cooke has consistently maintained that Berner’s accusations about his involvement in her departure from Summer House are baseless and hurtful. While the two have yet to resolve their differences, Cooke’s openness to making amends suggests that there may be hope for a future truce.
The Feud with Craig Conover
Cooke’s other major conflict has been with Craig Conover, star of Southern Charm, who invested in Spritz Society, another rival to Loverboy. Conover claimed in May 2024 that he had reached out to Cooke to invest in Loverboy before ultimately choosing Spritz, but Cooke contests this narrative. He accused Conover of lying about the timeline, insisting that Conover had already made a deal with Spritz before approaching him. Cooke criticized Conover for spreading “a bunch of misinformation” about their dealings, further straining their relationship. However, fans of Summer House will get to see some of their issues play out on the show’s current season.
Looking Ahead: Resolution and Closure?
As the drama unfolds on Summer House, viewers are left wondering if Cooke, DeSorbo, Berner, and Conover can find a path toward resolution. Cooke has already hinted that he and DeSorbo have managed to rebuild their friendship, which suggests that even in the face of intense conflict, these reality TV personalities are capable of growth and reconciliation. For now, though, the fiery confrontations and ongoing feuds remain a major focus of the show. With Cooke’s candid reflections and the promise of more drama to come, fans are in for a wild ride as Summer House continues to air every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo and streams the next day on Peacock.
