A dedicated team from the financial planning firm Hadlow Edwards, based in Wrexham, is gearing up for a charitable venture this weekend. Nearly 50 members comprising staff, family, and clients will lace up their boots to support Nightingale House Hospice, a prominent charity in the Wrexham region.
The initiative involves a 10-kilometre trek along the scenic Sandstone Trail on Saturday, May 11. Led by Hadlow Edwards director, the group aims to culminate their journey with a well-deserved social gathering at the Bickerton Poacher. In consideration of varying abilities and potential inclement weather, a shorter route option will be available to ensure inclusivity.
This philanthropic endeavour marks the latest in a series of fundraising activities orchestrated by the Hadlow Edwards team in aid of Nightingale House. Previous efforts have seen them undertake a 383-kilometre cycling odyssey from Vietnam to Cambodia and host a spinathon in Wrexham city centre.
Nightingale House Hospice holds significance as it offers vital palliative care services to individuals grappling with life-limiting illnesses. Serving patients and their families across a wide catchment area spanning Wrexham, Flintshire, East Denbighshire, Barmouth, and various border towns including Oswestry and Whitchurch, the hospice provides these services free of charge.
Hadlow Edwards articulated the motivation behind their choice of charity, stating, “We ran a questionnaire with our staff at the end of last year to discover what charities and awareness days are the most important to them. Nightingale House came up time and again. It’s a local charity, doing amazing work and so many people have a connection to the place. It seemed the obvious choice.”
The corporate fundraising lead for Nightingale House expressed gratitude towards Hadlow Edwards for their consistent support, remarking, “On behalf of the hospice team, I extend our heartfelt gratitude to Hadlow Edwards for their unwavering support as they embark on their forthcoming fundraising walk. Their continued dedication and generosity to Nightingale House make a world of difference to local people at the most difficult time of their lives.”
The Hadlow Edwards team has set an ambitious fundraising target of £2,000 for this venture.
This commendable initiative not only underscores the spirit of community and compassion within the Hadlow Edwards team but also highlights the vital role played by local businesses in supporting essential services such as those provided by Nightingale House Hospice. As they prepare to embark on their fundraising walk, the collective efforts of these individuals serve as a testament to the power of community solidarity in effecting positive change within society.
In conclusion, the forthcoming fundraiser spearheaded by Hadlow Edwards stands as a beacon of hope, symbolising the unwavering commitment of individuals and businesses alike towards supporting critical healthcare services for those in need. As they take strides towards their fundraising goal, their actions serve as a reminder of the profound impact that grassroots initiatives can have in enhancing the well-being of our communities.
