The idea for this special night originated from a considerate suggestion by a local resident acting as a spokesperson for the over-50s demographic in Chester and its surroundings. Contacting Rosies’ duty manager, the resident was inspired by a news article from BBC Somerset highlighting a successful event at a local nightclub, proposing the idea of an over-50s night in Chester.
Recognizing the potential of the concept, the duty manager embraced the idea wholeheartedly. After careful consideration, the chosen date for The FlashBack was set, marking a significant moment in Rosies’ history as it ventures into uncharted territory with an event specifically tailored for the 50-plus age group.
To ensure the night’s success, the duty manager set out to find a local DJ capable of delivering iconic vibes that would resonate with the attendees. The choice was clear – a prominent figure on the club scene since the mid-70s, known for spinning soulful tunes and a passion for music and beer.
For those who immersed themselves in the vibrant nightlife of Chester during its golden era, names like Quaintways, Tiffanys, Cinderellas, Maxwells, Angels, High Society, Rendezvous, and, of course, Rosies, evoke memories of unforgettable nights on the dance floor – many of which were orchestrated by the selected DJ.
Expressing excitement about this ground breaking event, the duty manager stated, “Rosies prides itself on being a welcoming and inclusive venue, and we are delighted to break new ground with what is believed to be the first event of its kind specifically targeting people aged 50 plus in Chester and possibly the Northwest of England.”
