The Rise of the Canadiano: A Quiet Rebellion in a Cup

The world of coffee has become an unlikely battleground in the escalating tensions between the United States and Canada. This subtle yet symbolic change is part of a broader movement to assert Canadian pride and push back against recent political and economic tensions between the two neighboring nations.

The shift comes as Canada prepares to impose a 25% import tariff on certain U.S. goods, a retaliatory measure against U.S. tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum. Interestingly, Kicking Horse Coffee had already been serving the drink under the name Canadiano since they opened their doors in 2008. However, the recent rise in U.S.-Canada tensions provided the perfect opportunity to turn this small act of defiance into a national movement. The post quickly gained traction, and soon coffee shops from coast to coast were rally
